NÂNG LY

Elegance and Exotic Tradition in Every Sip

NÂNG LY offers a luxurious experience at affordable prices that does not compromise on style and quality. The brand’s focus is to provide a sense of exclusivity and luxury in the western regions of Europe and America – at an affordable price! The design is especially tailored to customers who love to travel, explore new cultures and enjoy moments with friends over a luxury drink like rum.

The vietnamese phrase NÂNG LY roughly translates to Cheers. The brand name was chosen to further establish the goal of bringing people together and sharing warm memories with them.

The design of NÂNG LY combines Asian inspiration with a modern, western approach, without falling into clichés. Every detail has been thought through, from the elegant bottle shapes to the striking presence of the sugar cane that characterizes our brand and conveys a sense of authenticity.

The logo and calligraphy are inspired by the elegance of Vietnam's upscale culture, complemented by elements such as lanterns and subtle brushstrokes. The imagery of NÂNG LY is characterized by golden light, contrasting backgrounds and a minimalist aesthetic that emphasizes the luxury experience of our brand.

I allowed myself to explore a lot of different approaches before settling on one concept to go with. After researching Vietnam, it's mythology and symbols and doing market research, I came up with a concept that tried to incorporate sugar cane as well as the mythologic bird.

The main motifs are found in the logo design as well.To show more tradition, some of the brush strokes are done with an authentic, digitalized brush stroke done by a monk. The horizontal stroke shows the "compartment" like structue of sugar cane as well as a sugar cane leaf. The circle around it pulls it together but also represents a very simplified version of a lantern, shining in a natural, sugar cane colored and friendly and welcoming sand color.

To get to this logo, I allowed myself to freely explore different options as well.
