EXODUS
Discovering the Unknown – Follow a Drone’s journey on an Alien Planet.
EXODUS is a fascinating short film that tells the story of a drone that goes on a journey of discovery on a new planet. When designing the poster, my main focus was on visually capturing the essence of the film and the core idea of technological exploration. It draws the viewer into the world of the movie and gives a taste of the adventure that awaits.
Through deliberate conceptual decisions the poster design conveys the core themes of EXODUS – discovery, technology and new beginnings.
The central motif of the poster is the drone itself, which acts as a symbol for the "rising star of new technology". We wanted to express this metaphor through a dynamic yet futuristic depiction of the drone. It hovers in the center of the poster, surrounded by a landscape that hints at the unknown planet.
The typography was carefully selected to emphasize the futuristic and technological aspect of the film. Clear, modern fonts, combined with a minimalist layout, draw the focus to the central image motif and reinforce the poster's message. The title "EXODUS" is prominently placed to immediately attract attention and arouse the viewer's curiosity. Composition and visual dynamics The composition of the poster is designed to suggest a visual journey. The drone appears to move upwards from the bottom of the image, towards the rising star. This movement symbolizes departure and the discovery of new worlds. The background elements are deliberately kept reduced in order to focus attention on the drone and the central beam of light.
The color palette plays a crucial role in the poster's presentation. We opted for a combination of deep blues and purples to emphasize the mysterious and alien nature of the new planet. The rising star is represented by a warm, golden beam of light that casts the drone in a heroic light and emphasizes its importance as a pioneer of new technology.
